Details:

The Regional Liaisons will serve as the bridge between the SFTE Board of Directors and local SFTE Chapters within a specific geographic region (e.g., Southeastern U.S., Southwestern U.S., etc.). Working directly with the Chapter Liaison, the Regional Liaisons foster communication, collaboration, and consistency across chapters, ensuring each has the resources and support they need to thrive.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Engage with assigned chapters within the region to support activities such as events, elections, STEM outreach, and member engagement.
  • Facilitate collaboration between nearby chapters, encouraging joint meetings, technical exchanges, and professional networking opportunities.
  • Assist with administrative needs including bylaws revisions, chapter webpage setup, and funding requests through established SFTE
    processes.
  • Promote chapter visibility by coordinating with SFTE’s communications team to highlight activities on SFTE
    social media, newsletters, and the website.
  • Support new chapter development by guiding prospective leaders through the startup process and recommending updates to the Chapter Resources, as required.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Chapter Liaison, providing short regional status updates and highlighting successes, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Assist with shared resources such as the Chapters webpage, contact database, and other internal chapter tools or updates.


Qualifications:

  • Active Member in good standing

  • Prior involvement in local chapter (officer experience preferred)

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Enthusiasm for building community and supporting chapter growth
